Badgers Fight Back - Against Plans to build on the Asker Lane fields!
This Blog is here to provide information to local residents of Matlock about the recent announcement by the Matlock District Council that it is exploring the option to develop 270 new houses on green field sites around Matlock. The largest site is off Asker Lane / Chesterfield Road and has the potential to have 179 homes. Please feel free to comment, we want to hear from you!

Richborough Estates the developers are still pushing ahead as if nothing has happened??
The local residents have said no, the local council has said no and made the land priority 4 (Not Suitable for Building), and the wildlife people have said no, and not to disturb the badger set and other wildlife. The land isn't in the new local plan for development and is outside of the Settlement Framework Boundary!
A Pamphlet was sent out this week from Richborough Estates outlining their new plans for the area:
